Join the PNW's foremost madrone expert Marianne Elliott (Washington State University) and ecologist Michael Yadrick to learn all about the west's most striking tree, pacific madrone. This workshop will combine classroom presentations  and a walk in a madrone/oak forest. We will discuss madrone 101 and beyond, including but not limited to the tree’s:

· Changing geographic range

· Climate adaptive capacity

· Community ecology

· Uses by wildlife and humans

· Decline due to diseases and pests

· Propagation

· Research about the species

· Ways to get involved in madrone community science.
